Oh, wow, it's been a minute.

in reverse chronological order:

In a weekend that seems to be kicking off a fall of crazy travel that is making juggling my writing team's assignments fun, I started in Boston on Thursday, went to San Diego that night, and will be headed back to NJ tonight. Fun....

Fun complicated by the fact that my stomach finally decided on a revolt for the first time in about 3 years. Really should have seen it coming and been more conservative given that the office remodeling (yep, that time of my life again) had caused me to have 3 migraines in the past week resulting in a rather lot of excedrin use that probably did no favors to my gut integrity. So eating the fries that came with the room service burger was a mistake.

Hopefully it's one that was rectified by benadryl, apple, and banana given that today's meeting really needs me on point for taking notes.

Work continues to be fast, furious, interesting, and challenging. Dealt with the departure of one of my best writers on my team of 4 that made the last 2 mos more interesting, as well as continued growing pains with my problem child where he went MIA on site and continued a pattern of double talking to me and accounts. Most of that seems to be better but seems he's backslid recently with bitching about one of the account team members to a junior account team member which is just, really dude? I know you are older than 30. Do you really need me to explain to you in the hierarchy of a company who it is appropriate to vent to whom about? Apparently so, so that will be next week. He also has a bad habit of "can i take a half day PTO tomorrow". Which wouldn't be an issue but he knew full well the day he asked to do it, we had only him and one other writer in the office. No explanation was really given to me one way or another, but still, inconsiderate.

In better news, my 40th birthday went off without a hitch or migraine :):) Yay!

fleshlycherrie came down to stay with me and along with Cassiee we went to a panic at the disco concert which I'd sprung for VIP tickets for all of us -- figured if I was going to do it, especially at a concert likely to have <18 of age participants, might as well have good seats. I may have neglected to tell cassie and cherry how good of seats resulting in some temporary deafness. But it was a great experience and show -- Floating piano with fortunately no falling Uries, guest appearance by Cyndi Lauper, and lot of fun. Then a weekend of fandom and a trip to the botanical gardens.

So yeah, that been my summer. that and a fuckton of rain. I feel like we got the weather from Seattle.

I kept thinking you didn't know where you were going as you lead us to the seats. It was such a fantastic experience (3 day ear ringing aside :p). Thank you for an amazing experience!

Also, I gush to everyone about the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at the Gardens too. We made that weekend work hard for us and it was totally worth it.
