Wow, 2013 refuses to go out with a whimper

Just got email that my boss, who heavily recruited me, just resigned effective immediately. To point that he ups'ed his computer etc back. He has had a health setback, that I'm unclear of specifics, but still. Wow.

And the cynical part of myself wonders if theis means I get his office now while the rest of me is wondering if I made the complete wrong choice with the job change. Hopefully this translates to job security though??
