My mother is saying that no one ever told her that pseudophedrine could exacerbate/cause issues w/ raynaud's phenomenon.

Even though the reason I've always been so strict about trying to get off of it every winter is because of my mild raynaud's. *head desk*

Oh, interesting! I have (mild) raynaud's, but I'm allergic (for values of allergic that actually mean hypersensitive) to pseudophedrine, so I wouldn't have noticed a connection.

Yeah, I'd read that it tends to go along w/ hypothyroidism, so that makes sense.

I've had various people tell me that of course pseudophedrine wouldn't do that since it's a stimulant, and my answer has been (beyond science) that I know at least 5 people w/ varying degrees of raynaud's and we all know that if it's less than 65 outside and we take pseudophedrine, our hands will act like it's 40.

In general, any of the "ine" drugs don't mix w/ raynaud's --> psuedophrine, caffeine, nicotine.

I'm just glad caffeine is the least of those for me as I'm not quite prepared to face the world stimulant free. And as most of my family would say, the world doesn't need to face me that way either ;)

Oh, and as an aside, if it's causing you problems, ginkgo biloba does help reduce the attacks. I took it for a couple of years, but started getting eczema - not sure if it was due to me reacting to the ginkgo or if it just became impossible for me to find a truly corn free one.
