So, iphone4 arrived today. Since it apparently was fully charged, I've messed around for an hour trying to set it up....
1)after going half way through activation over wireless, started to wonder whether this would screw me up at all w/ being able to load my apps etc...
2) hooked up to computer and the itunes took over and I followed their steps, including restoring the info from my old phone which should put my apps on (?)
3) it turns off and on, then itunes informs me it can't connect because there's an error and my phone iforms me there's no sim card (which is dumb since i got it from att with the internal card in it)
4)called the online number, did activation there, told to turn off phone for a while. I did.
5) figured I'd put on the screen protector while I was at it. Did so. Figured a while had passed
6) turned iphone back on. Still informing there's no sim card
7) added bonus, the touchscreen is possessed --- top corners seem to not be registering, but bottom areas seem to be detecting phantom touches to the point of always opening the phone instead of email etc.
8) Thought perhaps it had something to do w/ screen protector. Removed it. NO
9) thought it had something to do with the otterbox holder. REmoved it. NO
10) thinking i need to go eat something before i give into temptation to throw things since figuring out that the activation process did succeed in disconnecting my iphone 3gs from the network.
11) and I have a work trip on Wed morning, before I leave for my vacation, so it would be oh so nice to have a functioning cell phone.
*bangs head*
Seriously, in a future life, I must be an awesome hacker that single-handedly cripples vasts swaths of skynet. Guess I better stock up in preparation for the terminator hordes
