Sooo, screwed up yesterday and gave myself caffeine withdrawal. AFter having 2+ cups of caffeine most of vacation, I only managed to get 1/2 cup of coffee yesterday morning due to the hotel running out of just pure columbian by the time I got to lobby. And as I had banana + almond butter for meal on road, stomach was too acidy to contemplate more caffeine in any form if I had realized. Fortunately, it waited till 7 pm to start hitting. But it took me till 10 pm to figure it out. Doh.

But it didn't interfere too much with sleep. Still had crazy wicked dreams after about 2 am. Of course, again, now I remember why - been taking 2 claritin D's on and off, which always results in much much lighter sleep. Well, not lighter as in you'll wake me up, but lighter as in I remember my REM. Hopefully, tonight I'll have energy and feel like dusting/vacuuming (stomach was upset at 2 bananas yesterday) so that I can reliably go back down to 1 and then start switching to every other day in anticipation of getting off of it before the cold really hits and my fingers/toes suffer. Also, need to make sure I'm off of most of the withdrawal/lethargy BEFORE going to madrid.

Have I mentioned how much I hate my sensitivity to uppers/downers?

On the drive back, my brain was occasionally flashing on all the work that awaits: the workshop prep with client getting more nervous as they keep changing focus, the revisions of the supplements, a new preclin paper from client to revise, and who knows what else has come up. Which, I won't be bored. And there is job security. (and despite my bitching and complaining about the amounts, and tendency to procrastination, I do love what I do. Especially in comparison to anything else I could do with my degree).

Okay, time to get ready so I can actually wander in at 9 am on time for once. Also have to put my desk in order from the "move", so that should be interesting.
