Q&A MEME
- Leave a comment saying "Cogito ergo nom."
- I'll respond by asking you five questions to satisfy my curiosity.
- Update your journal with the answers to your questions.
- Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions.

And, [profile] notragicmercury's questions:

1) If you could be BFF with any of the Doctor's companions, which one would it be? People who tagged along count, too.

Mmm, people who tagged along count, eh? Who wouldn't want to be BFF with Jack Harkness. I mean, really! Close second is Martha. (this is qualified by the fact that I only know New Who)

2) What is your biggest pet peeve? What makes you really excited?

Pet peeve: Horridly cared for nails. Anyone will tell you that I'm not one to do manicures, or paint my nails, or even file them, but it's not that difficult to keep them neatly trimmed and almost all of them even with a pair of clippers. Excessively dirty (without the excuse of a job that gets your hands filthy), or very odd lengths on a few, and well, the hair on my neck crawls. This may be slightly related to the fact that in my experience, those with those sorts of nails have been mentally off (and generally my bosses, adding to the negative association).

What makes me excited? I'd love to pull out something cool here, but I'm pretty boring. Fandom makes me squee on occassion. Writing when the muse is REALLY flowing, nothing better than that. But the last times that life experiences made me really excited was when a) the week around my interview for a temp job to leave hell biotech even though I'd still be at the bench [and technically a technician with a phd], and b) when the interview for my current medical writing job went fantabulous and they kept saying they'd hire me even as it took the recruiter forever to secure the contract. I mean, seriously, giddy excited, skipping down the halls, and all of that. There's nothing like leaving a toxic workplace you loathe, and then 9 months later, finally getting the opportunity to pursue the career you've wanted since the 3rd year of grad school.

3) You're in charge of bringing back a cancelled TV show. Which one would it be?

Oh man, the choices. The choices. *wibbles* I worry that Firefly would break my heart and jump the shark if it came back. I really like where Farscape ended up. Deadwood, Rome, and Carnivale were pretty and lovely, but my fannish love wasn't quite equivalent to the others. Southland is coming back \0/ So I guess I'd have to say The Unit. Especially after watching the finale again and wondering how it would have changed if it came back.

4)If money wasn't an issue, what would you be doing with your life?

My mind starts to go to the fun places and things I might do if money weren't an issue, as I'd definitely take more chances and be more comfortable traveling if I knew I could afford to make sure I could eat the food, but in reality, that makes it seem like my life wouldn't be that much different. And the question isn't things that I'd do with the money either, so that leaves out taking the dad to Alaska finally. So really, if money wasn't an issues, I'd be involved in politics or more volunteerism. Because the small idealist part of myself that I try to keep buried to prevent the depression would like to get involved and make a difference, but my realistic side knows that other the difference to a small few people, real effects can't be seen without having some money behind it.

5)Who is the most bad-ass immortal, and why?
Jack Harkness, because he truly is immortal. If you can come back from being blown up, methinks you could come back from getting your head chopped off too.
