jebbypalWA-08 Congressional Candidate Darcy Burner lost her house to a fire this week.
The fire started in her 5 yr old son's room. Fortunately, the smoke detector in his room woke him up and he then woke his parents up. Darcy, her husband, and her son all escaped fine.
In order to give Darcy time to take care of personal matters without having to worry about campaigning for contributions to keep up with her Republican opponent, Daily Kos (and other bloggers) are running a donation drive for Darcy's campaign with the hopes of raising 400,000 dollars. So far, about 75K has been raised.
If you can't donate, this would be a good time to remember to check your smoke detectors.
