Okay, so there are some issues with the thesis - Now to find a PC to print off of at work to determine if they're real, or if it was a mac based issue. Gorram macs.
Okay, the season started slow, then there were two fantabulous eps that rivaled the best the show had produced yet, and then last week's evilness that was almost enough to make me give it up.
Last night....well. Okay, not as bad as I had anticipated. And don't ask me exactly why I'm so protective of Grey over Hector - I guess it's partly because we've gotten next to no characterization of Grey, and what we have had has almost entirely been forgotten (aka, Grey's supposed to be the medic a la last season, but suddenly we have two different eps w/ Hector purporting to be a doctor. Umm, WHAAA?)
So, yay that Grey survived. Acting was okay and as usual the makeup department went out of its way to make the wounds look a little too real. The family in it - all did excellent. The Stockholm story - stupid. The Max signal scenes - filler.
The homefront story - bleeeeecccchhhhh. we are women hear us roar. Stupid stupid stupid. You know, first season I was just annoyed that we had these interruptions to the good part of the show. Now though, I'm getting pissed that the writers (and producers) don't know crap about writing women. Honestly, for a large part, I had the same issue w/ Ryan's other product, the Shield. One to two good female characters out of all of them, and those were also the ones that acted the most like men for the sake of their careers.
That said, the one death - Hector's - worked a lot better than Grey's would simply because it brings home the randomness of death for the Unit. Rather than it truly being one of them sacrificing themselves for the cause/mission, it's when they are all almost ready to be home, let their guards down just a little and wham. As sensless as if he'd died in a car crash at home - except now we get a revenge story. *bleeecccchhh - really, sick of rambo knockoffs. writers will have to do something amazing to make this work*
Also, Hector was the one that saw Tiffy and the Col last week. Question - did he tell anyone?? Or have we once again abandoned the story line for the sake of keeping drama queen tiffy in the show?
I guess this is what happens when a flawed show that you start to like stays around long enough for the flaws to start outweighing the shiny. That or the writer's have gone for too many episodes without having Max shirtless for most of it, therefore allowing me to actually analyze what's going on....
