So in his unsworn testimony to Congress, Petraeus said that 30K troops could be headed home by next summer. Sounds like troop withdrawals being planned, no? Well, BushCo would like you to think so, but no. Due to requirements of how long troops can be deployed, the "SURGE" always required that 30k troops head home next summer.

Also, there were several small articles about this yesterday, but the Petraeus hearings also involved a lot of suppression of protesters. Sheehan and her sister-in-law were both arrested. Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr was harshly arrested, among others. Because we couldn't have the sounds of dissent filtering into the congressional chambers, no?

China bans lead paint in toys exported to US. Umm, HUH??? So they won't send them to us, but what the hell are they doing with them? Keeping them in country? Selling them to Africa? What? I mean, putting lead in anything you give to a child makes about as much sense as putting antifreeze in medicine or toothpaste. This is frakking ridiculous.

That was my thought when I read about this yesterday. Um nice that you're going to stop send lead-painted toys to us, but you might not want to use lead paint on toys for your own kids too.
