So I suppose I caved to the man today...

I bought a permanent account for
jebbypal. I'd been wanting to do it since the last account sale went when I was broke broke broke. Not that that's really changed...err, okay, it has, I'm actually out of credit card debt for the most part. The Strikethrough fiasco had me wavering, especially considering the cheapness of Insanejournal and whathave you. Then
liz_marcs made her post about how to use the back up tool and what have you to transfer things over and I thought...hmm, maybe.
Except today I went to look to see how long I had till I came up on my LJ annivesary (which, btw, I missed for the first time in three years -- It was back on May 5). And when I did that I noticed that I had made 3,655 journal entries.
And the back up tool doesn't let you take your memories or your tags. You have to do that by hand. *shudders*
At that point, I figured what the hell. Despite the emo-ness and the utter depression and hell that a lot of this journal was in the past few years (hopefully to change), I do want to keep it, but yet, I don't want to have to go back to look at it to actually categorize it or anything. So...permanent account. This way I won't have to remember to keep paying for the icons and what have you. Most of my fic is backed up on
frogs_fics and I can make a journal for it over at insane journal too (or just transfer to jebbypal over there). It's only 99 entries, so not much pain. That's just in a worst case scenario of LJ totally fubaring this up....which I hope doesn't happen now, but well.
*rubs face* This may be a purchase that I have buyers regret about. But well.....I did deserve a birthday and thesis gift for myself, I suppose. :P
So yeah, I hope my peeps stay in place because you guys are definitely what makes this worth it. *hugs flist*
