Farscape recs in review...I

jebbypalOkay, so I fell down on this a bit last week. Probably I'll just be doing mostly round up posts during the future because it gets a little time intensive to dig out the vid for the day and then also do my vid reactions over here.
Anyways, going chronologically in order of recs here -
It's My Life by Sammy -- Spoilers for Terra Firma, s4.
The voice over and screen captions work perfectly for the introduction for me. Beyond that, this film hits perfectly on every single event that has changed Crichton -- often in stunning screen overlays or in altered colors to highlight the time differential, and how those changes have made it so that Crichton doesn't fit in on Earth anymore.
The longing is palpable, as well as his feeling that no matter what he wants - Earth, Aeryn, whatever - he's never going to get it.
Normally, Bon Jovi would be enough to keep me from watching this, but someone, luridmuse I believe, insisted I watch once upon a time. After that, the shear angst (not to mention, wonderful Browder closeups) have made it one of my favorite vids. It's beautiful and touching character piece.
Specific times to watch for:
"016-0:20 -- real opening for the music and a setup for what follows with some of the most violent and painful moments that John's been through.
0:37 - A silent prayer paired with aeryn and john during one of their many Terra Firma awkward moments
0:41-0:57-- begins a sequence of scene overlays and transitions that is absolutely beautiful. It could have been too much, but with the careful color changes in specific scenes it works to me. A technique that will be employed often and well.
1:42-1:50 -- This is for the ones who stood their ground with clips of Aeryn, D'argo, Chianna, Noranti, Rygel. the inclusion of those that go to Earth with him is powerful.
2:52-3:02 -- one of the criticisms I can find for this vid -- this section could have done to have the source brightened so it was easier to see.
