A valentine's gift from the gods? A cruel practical joke? Come on, I was getting used to winter in Philadelphia being as pleasant as what I imagine winter in Florida to be. Not to mention snickering over the fact that Houston and Dallas have had more winter weather precip than moi.
The amounts here still aren't "normal" by any means. Worse, the snow hath turned to sleet. Cue me not looking forward to my walk to work but having to anyways. Then this afternoon it's supposed to go rain before going back to snow. I really should have invested in some steel clawed shoes at some point. More to the point, my ankle ligaments can return to a state of not hurting like they did yesterday (that is, they didn't hurt then) anytime now.
I believe I have everything I need for San Diego now. Finally got the confirmation info on my hotel plus my itty bitty reimbursement check (which required tax paperwork. Seriously, why does the IRS need to know about a piddly 100 bucks? Which reminds me, I have no clue how badly taxes this year will suck since the seventh year appears to be the year in which they decide to pull the "nonservice fellowship" crap that comes sans W2 and all that.....probably no effect on federal, but no clue how it affects state - which I've understood me to be exempt from in previous years - however, I'm loathe to pay 300 bucks to go to a CPA that will probably just scratch their heads as much as me anyways).
adelheide, my estimates of my work times as usual have been low ball, so the beta may take me to the end of the week, sorry!
Oh, and Happy V day to those of you on the flist who are studiously ignoring it ;)
