Also, what about children? The surest way to keep a baby or small child from crying is to give them a bottle or sippy cup of water (to alleviate the pressure in their ears).
I can't wait to travel to Missouri with my kid now. Sure as hell won't enjoy the crying when he's told he can't have anything to drink for over 3 hours (because I have absolutely no money, I am not paying for the trip and while I can use the foodstamps to buy carry-on drinks, I doubt the airlines take them).
Hopefully these rules will change before we have to go. If not...oh boy those passengers and crew are gonna LOVE my kid--lungs bigger, and a voice louder than even mine. And I won't feel one lick of sympathy for any of them, nor will I let the guilt bother me.
