22 Republicans join with Democrats to defeat spending bill
Yes, this is the spending bill that would have slashed Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and subsidized school lunches (to name just a few programs that would have been affected). Of course, this probably means that the Republicans will look more into selling off federal park land to pay for the war in Iraq (No, I'm not kidding. I've seen articles that this is actually being discussed, but I don't have the links right now).
And Feingold argues filibuster of planned Patriotic act extension is called for
