question about tonight's supernatural

Okay...so that part at the end where Missouri said "Boy could feel his mother's spirit in that house, but couldn't feel his father". Umm...how do you interpret that? I get that the dad is sitting in the shop at that point, but it also seemed like perhaps the poltergeist might have been ugly boy w/ the shining (dammit, he's still dean to me even if jensen is cuter. I'm bad w/ names okay)'s father. Any takers?
Also, I find it annoying that ugly dean (younger brother here)'s abilities only manifested right before his girlfriend died. Because damn, you'd think that would be a useful talent for "hunting" and that his dad might have tested for it. Or that oh, he'd have noticed other dreams like it and been open to the possibility based on his childhood. Sorry, it's just they've done this HUGE build to this point, but all of a sudden the details in this episode are sloppy.
Duude, loved cute dean in this. the interaction of both brothers w/ Missiouri was hilarious! I chickened out and missed bits and pieces, but still, hilarious!
Ohh, and one more thing, any thoughts on the little girl? I mean, she seemed to be sensing a hell of a lot more than the mother -- is she sensitive similar to ugly dean or just a coincidence...also, seems like the boys' mother may have been protecting her specifically.
And I find it odd that we didn't go and search for older history of the house or is it canon that the Winchester (sam! That's ugly dean's name. Sorry, it takes grandma a while sometimes) clan built the house? Just seems like most of the big mojo we've seen is tied to a place or an item EXCEPT for the mojo that killed the winchester mother. Seems sloppy once again.
And I was surprised to see the father. I half expected cute dean was hiding his death or even culpable for his death (yes, I've been hiding suspicions of evil on cute dean's part).
Okay, time to get this out of my head before I go to bed now.
