Are you renting from the airport rental agency, or an office located elsewhere?
Last year when I went home for Xmas, I found that the airport agencies had hiked their prices ridiculously, but if I could get to one of the inner city agencies, the price was a third as much. I got my dad to pick me up from the airport and drive me to the inner city agency.
