think good thoughts
Dec. 9th, 2014 09:30 amSo I hopefully can get back to my home for 10 days before my xmas trip.
NJ: noreaster under way. EWR notorious about closing for wind. Expected to go through tomorrow afternoon.
San Fran: Severe thunderstorm system supposed to hit on Wednesday, go through friday, and be accompanied by severe wind.
*head desk* I've been ready to go home since Saturday night. Like homesick ready. Which I honestly haven't experienced since summer camp my sophmore year of high school.
Emotionally doing a bit better. I think a lot of my Saturday/Sunday moody breakdown was combination too few calories/protein plus migraine. Bleh. Now that I have some muscle that seems to want more protein/calories than it is willing to burn off my buddha blubber belly, I'm going to have to seriously rethink and redesign my work travel meal plans because 18 minidonuts, about 10-12 lara bars (maybe, it's hard to judge, I do them in balls instead of bars as they carry better in containers that way), occassional nut combo, 8 hamburger buns, 10 almond butter packets, and as many beef jerky as I can stand to eat (which is about maybe 2 a day and involves gagging) is NOT enough for 5 days. I did supplement with 1 meal a day but at conferences it's not always easy to manage to go to a sit down restaurant place that is likely to be safe enough for me to get something at. Oh, corn allergy.
Hunger did mean I managed to eat a boiled egg today without a salad/dressing accompaniment which is a miracle in and of itself -- I do not like the taste of eggs overall generally. Eggs over easy cooked in butter are generally found yummy but it's not a guarantee that it will pass the texture/taste test. Scrambled...only if there's also tomatoes or something to flavor. Omelets are meh since I usually don't have a safe cheese. Hard boiled - okay if it's in a salad with olive oil to keep it from being dry and preferably a fruit as "dressing flavor".
But this may make foraging food in the airport easier if it continues :) Which will be necessary since I'm down to my last 2 buns, 3 packets of almond butter, a lot of nuts, and 3 lara bars. And a lot of beef jerky. But seriously, the novelty of those has worn off. Gag me.
I didn't see a lot in san francisco this time. Partly because work. Partly because as I didn't intend to come here originally, I had not brought my ergonomic backpack suitcases and so my neck and back were majorly not happy very quickly since I had to be able to carry my ipad, notepad, normal purse contents, plus food for the 5-6 hours before I got back to hotel. If anyone finds a tardis purse that is lightweight and reduces the weight of all that is put in it, sign me up for the waiting list, yo'.
Neck is officially out after playing at it all weekend though not as bad as it could be. Though the day is young. And I do have a 6 hour flight hopefully at some point. :( Good incentive to not fall asleep and do the work I've been putting off. Especially if I end up in another broken seat that doesn't recline (how falling asleep without reclining didn't completely cause my neck to wack off way back on Thursday is another miracle.)
Cannot wait to get home and go to my chiropractor. And sleep in my bed with my pillows.
Down comfortors and pillows are a torture device in my opinion. They don't hold their shape, the comforter is warm but doesn't breathe so it's a fine line between comfort and the burning pits of hell. evil evil evil things.
Okay, that's enough. I should finish my coffee and my packing.
