Fingers crossed
Apr. 20th, 2013 10:37 amSoo, I'm sick of my hair. I mean, tempted to cut the pony tail off sick of it. I think this comes from the fact that I've had medium to long hair now for going on 10 years -- basically since all hair products became verboten with my allergy and there's not a lot of ways to have "no product" hair that isn't long hair. And yes, I'm thankful that my hair consistency gives me this option.
But, I went and got LONG hair this past couple of years out of boredom and laziness. Which, granted, isn't bad. Offers a couple of styling options that simple and easy, but I think it's been too long for too long as the bottom half is pretty dry and only look good if i don't wash for a couple of days, at which point the top of my head is matted. (I used to joke about my head doing an "oil explosion" if I didn't wash daily. It still does but I've gotten to point I can tolerate going 2 days and still being seen in public. Sadly, while it will look great when I wake up, even putting in shower cap and then showering, suddenly before I'm ready to walk out on day 2, the scalp starts looking oily.)
And by long long, I mean that in pony tail it measures 12 inches. And yes, I know, I could donate it but I don't think i'm brave enough to go super short without first testing a lot of home made styling gels, which is what the whole '10 inches to locks of love" would require.
So, I've waited a week. I'm still sick of it. I may chicken out and just have 4-5 inches cut off, but I'm really leaning towards going back to shoulder length. A classic bob that length will be safest, but I think i really want some texture. Fingers crossed this doesn't go badly since I have client meeting end of next week. Of course, I don't have to travel for work for at least a month, closer to 2, so I'll have some time to let it grow out and get evened out if it does go horribly. (Yes, i'm lucky, my hair still grows unreasonably fast).
