Jul. 27th, 2011 11:00 amWell, after it starting to look like work has dropped to a manageable level, I acquiesced and took today off.
First order of business, sleeping until 9:30 am. :) Particularly surprising since I skipped dinner unless you count 4 truffles. :P
Also, given that I wake less achy generally when I sleep on the recliner versus in bed, I'm confirming my suspicion that my furniture purchase this summer should be a new mattress. The number I've bought this decade is kind of ridiculous since the super soft one from the discount place was defective as soon as more than 150 lbs slept on it (not to mention making certain activities nearly impossible). The current "hard" one bought w/ B's influence is too hard for me to sleep on without getting back spasms unless I have the foam topper on it. But foam is breaking down, isn't all that cheap, and takes almost a week to air out before it doesn't give me head aches. So might as well go ahead and buy one. So I'll hit the sale this weekend and see if any there are amenable, otherwise wait till labor day weekend to hit the mattress store where I purchased my last one.
But, big order of the day: connecting Roku. With the netflix price change, not to mention the reliability issues netflix has had this past year between sony and its own server problems, I'm not willing to pay 8 bucks solely for internet streaming from them. Especially with amazon prime, i already have free streaming of a number of vids plus my video library. So i purchased the roku and now have it set up so I can watch my amazon shows on my tv. \0/ Though I don't understand the puke green screen of the roku box. Really? Just weird.
Now I'm finally going to eat breakfast and have my coffee before my body declares war. This afternoon: CLEAN ALL THE THINGS.
And then back to work tomorrow. But at least all the things will be clean for a restful weekend that will hopefully contain a minimum of work finally!!!
