Weekend productivity...that's novel....
Nov. 7th, 2010 08:07 pmYesterday was haircut in Delaware (yes, I know - the one place here close I had an issue w/ the stylist so I went to the old standby one more time before winter weather sets in). And then a little shopping that actually scored what seem to be some decently comfy shoes for everday office wear. Not sure if they'd be as comfy for walking long distances/standing as my 2 every day pair of danskos that are probably going to fall apart some time this year unless I find a gifted shoe repair place, but it will keep me from ruining my "business dress" danskos that all my suits are hemmed to. :) And that would also be the shoe budget for this year and next assuming I was with it enough to do a budget.
But between that, last month's (needed) sweater splurge, and my friend's baby gift as well as hotel for the shower, Yeah, no more big fun purchases for me for a few months. Fortunately, the business travel in december will put money in my pocket (IDEK, but somehow it always comes out on the positive gain side once you don't have to buy groceries and get all your meals comped).
And today, I finally cleaned the kitchen and the bathrooms, and folded my mountains of clean laundry before they attained sentience and started eating the furniture. During which time, i also pulled out the winter clothes and have come to the conclusion that it's really time to for me to let go of my ratty, comfy, old clothing that is circa 1995-2003 (and no longer fit to wear even to the gym in some cases) as I have too many.
I try not to be a packrat, but on clothes I fail somewhat.
Overall, boring boring weekend, but at least I can see progress. Next week, I need to do the vaccuming and attack the living room mess so it won't be as difficult to pack and so I'll be able to enjoy all of Turkey day break in a clean and neat house ... instead of just ignoring the piles.
