Paul Krugman calls the presidential candidates on their lies. And the rest of the media on not doing the same.

Please, for all that's great about our constitution and the possibility of maintaining a free press, PLEASE PLEASE attempt to do your job, media. We, the people, beg of you. Yes, the vast majority of the public gets sick of the election process. Yes, tight soundbites and then moving on to Paris' successful hunger strike getting her released from prison (not true, but that's what it sounds like) gets more ratings. But please, at least do a modicum of fact checking if you aren't going to do any true investigative political journalism anymore. PLEASE!! Don't do a replay of the last two crappy presidential elections of biased coverage resulting in a non-qualified person getting the job!!

Okay, I've loved foxit reader for many reasons -- one being it's not the system hog that adobe pdf readers are. However, the version I'd downloaded had a flaw in that the library would never close which resulted in me not being able to move articles around for filing unless I rebooted. So I figured, what the hey, they've probably repaired this, I'll uninstall and reinstall.

STUPID.

First, the uninstall for some reason wiped the three articles I'd just downloaded. (You'd have heard me screaming if it wiped all of my articles on my computer. Most are backed up, but still).

Second, I figured I'd go ahead and buy the full program so I wouldn't get the stupid "you'll have annotated marks" warning about the foxit logo if I was using the free version and wanting to type notes on the article. Okay, no problem, download and install after paying and grab the temp license key.

I go back to download the articles I'd lost and .... suddenly foxit reader refuses to cooperate with firefox. At all. I don't frelling understand it. And I don't need to procrastinate to figure it out. But I LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE IE7. With white hot hatred.

but I guess I must give in for the moment.

I just don't frelling understand it. I don't recall having to fix this problem when I downloaded the software initially, but I could have forgotten it.

*bangs head*

This is almost enough to make me go and download Opera just to avoid using IE7.

ETA -- oh thank god. there's an extension to fix the problem here

Okay, you've all heard me whine about things that I miss out on due to the corn allergy (barbeque, swiss miss cakes, etc). However, I've probably never waxed poetic to you about Tuna Salad.

I have always loved tuna salad (as long as there weren't eggs in it). As a kid, I used to freak my brother out when I made it (one of the few things I was allowed to make since my parents had huge fire fears and didn't let me use the stove until I was about 14) by taunting him about "secret ingredients". Which generally boiled down to a splash of pepper vinegar into the salad. But it was fun.

and I've always loved it and it was always easy and it's pretty darn hard to screw up. Until I couldn't use Miracle Whip (modified food starch). It took me about a year to get used to the taste of plain Mayonnaise (Had never eaten it before in my life. Just Miracle Whip.)

Then I mastered that and thought things were hunky dory. Except I started reacting to pickle relish. Good tuna fish was a thing of the past. (for real, go and try to find a pickle relish without corn syrup in it. Seriously).

However, I finally decided to experiment and figured I'd try adding apples.

OMG, sooo close to the real thing as far as getting the sweetness back into the dish. Probably 100x healthier too to combat the cholesterol of the mayonnaise.

Mmmmm.....happiness is reclaiming a recipe I thought lost.

Man solves mystery of what your cat does when you aren't with it.

Hmm....I want to know how he got the cat to sit still long enough to have the camera attatched.
