whee

took the day off and played video games. Unfortunately, I wasted most of it w/ a bad one (IMO) - kingdom hearts. The graphics and story were actually okay, there just wasn't much playing to be done. It was like watching a movie except w/ pauses in the movie so you could hit a button for five minutes. And said movie written for 8 year olds. Played it for about five hours waiting fo rit to pick up or something and it only got SLOWER. Plus they killed the character I could stand and I"m sorry, I never liked Donald Duck or Goofy when I was a kid (and those were the two main reasons I almost never watched Mickey Mouse cartoons) so I'm not going to play a game where they are sidekicks for very long (they didn't show up till the last hour).

So I switched back to Ratchet and Clank. At least I have four different games of that series to play so I don't get as burned out on it as I have Baldur's Gate.

*pokes muse* I did actually try to write today. It just wasn't cooperative at all.

I don't know how else to say it, but I'm in love with Firewater. It warms the cockles of my ears in some specific way. That said, I had to delete two songs from The Man On the Tightrope album because they were overlaid with a voice recording (supposed to be like a phone message I believe) -- which is fine, it works in other songs by other bands. The only problem here is that the voice sounded EXACTLY like my mother's so it was giving me the wiggins to just hear it out of nowhere and then to be hearing it whining about a relationship gone wrong. Just all sorts of wiggins from that if you can imagine. Rest of album = love. Very disappointed that I got the soul asylum live recording earlier in the month because a) that album sucks for some reason (not sure if it's due to the replacement lead singer or what but gaah) and b) now I don't have enough downloads left from emusic to download another firewater in entirety. Siiigh.

Ahh well, never stopped me from playing the hell out of what I have. Though I really wish pandora music would actually play music that was similar to firewater when I program the station. I don't know exactly how they do their algorithims, but the stuff they play on that station sounds NOTHING like firewater.

Hmm, i just realized that there sound is very similar to Tom Waits. Yep, between the voice and the trombones, shoulda known.

This rambling is brought to you by procrastination that can no longer justify playing ratchet and clank.

I should always go with my instincts. Calling home was not the way to end the weekend.

In other news, I keep having dreams about going about my day naked. wierd wierd wierd )

As for the funny part of life meaning you have to laugh or you'll cry, my crazy grandmother wants the invisible people that sit around her house all day (that even she says she can't see, she just knows they are there. She's named them Mrs. Singer and Mr. Hummer) to be paid. When asked how to accomplish this, she says, "I'd just leave the money on the table and they'd get it eventually". My dad now agrees w/ my grandfather that she has no business w/ any amount of money whatsoever. But at least she's cooking meals now since she can't let Mr. Hummer and Mrs. Singer go hungry.

*laughs*

I'm tempted to get the erika since it's on sale, but I don't know if I like it that much. If there are thoughts, speak;)

I just finished shredding everything that I've been holding for at least a year (I got paranoid when my building was sold and the maintenance people became skeevy).

Gaaaaah.

Oh well, now I can tell myself that I'll keep up with it:P

I also managed to neaten my kitchen and one corner of my apartment. Progress. Especially as piley as it had gotten. And yes, piles are my system of ... everything.:P
