Okay, I find this a little crazy. The reason: I'm fairly certain there are machines that can detect explosives...that or I was told a big lie when I was in college. Our chemistry professor managed to get us in to tour both the nuclear reactor plant in MO as well as MU's research reactor. At the nuclear plant, there were metal detectors as well as another detector to look for the chemical signature of explosives that everyone, employees and visitors, had to pass through.
Surely the TSA can afford some of these machines?
