List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they mustbe songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in yourlivejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people tosee what they're listening to.
Wish You Well - Tom Cochrane
Well, there's not much by Tom that I don't like, but this song hits most of my kinks and is on two of his albums and the acoustic version will tear your heart out if you've ever had a breakup that the animosity has faded from
The Roof Is Leaking - Phil Collins
I must confess sheepishly that a) i developed my music prefs late - early teen years - because i grew up listening to either my dad's country or my mom's oldies and HATING both. When I did get into music, I fell hard for Phil Collins and then for Genesis when I found out he was the singer (hey, sheltered small town Okie here. Give me a break). There are a lot of his songs that I still like, but this one ties "I Don't Care Anymore" for my favorite. This one also still gives me chills when I hear because of the arrangement and vocals. Sadly, The last two albums Phil has done have been piss poor as a result of his severe hearing loss and aging vocals. Tis true, he hasn't aged as well as Peter Gabriel vocally.
Hysteria - Big Head Todd and the Monsters
A band I heart like mad. The tonal qualities of this song make it my favorite by them (Hey, you're on my friends list so you already know my issues with tones)
Wasteland - 10 Years
Gaah, this is
kazbaby's fault. Her vid to it (which I still have to get again as I kept losing it during computer malfunctions I believe -- it never did burn right for me) killed me, the song killed me, and when I bought the cd, it still killed me. I'm dead.
American Baby - Dave Matthews Band
Tonality baby. I want to hate the lyrics, but gaaaaaaaah, I could sit and listen to dave sing this song all day on repeat.
So Long, Superman - Firewater
A very close tie to "Dropping Like Flies", but it wins out for humorous aspects. I await the day it might be vidded
Busted - Matchbox 20
I almost got
cassiee to vid this song, but computer woes and muse abandonment killed that project. This song, gah, I've loved it for so long. When I first heard it, it brought back many many many memories of the cancelled show Brimstone (give me my dvds, fox, damn you), and even without that I love the lyrics, the tone, and the beat slays me. *puppy dog eyes at vidders* Really, it would probably work for Supernatural. One life just ain't enough. I need another soul to feed on.
