My building is insane

Seriously, any other year, I'd say this is most likely simply a refueling day and the boiler hasn't heated up yet. But it's not any other year -- this is the year that we had mostly fifty degree days but the management REFUSED to turn off the heat because it was January.

So now it's march and we're experiencing 30-40 degree days with winds in the 20mph generally. And what's happened? The heat is off. Given that this occured AT THE BEGINNING OF MARCH, I'm led to believe that March is the "turn the heat off regardless time".

Fortunately, I am high up in the building so it's not frigid. Hovering around 70, but plenty of draft from my a/c that I refused to allow them to insulate because to do so would cause me to broil.

Ridiculous. Absolutely frelling ridiculous.

Oh well, off to work after ten hours of sleep. Shouldn't be long and then I'll see afterward if I feel like braving the gym.
ETA -- oh wait, this is the beginning of Penn's faux Spring Break (How can it be spring break when spring hasn't started??) so the gym will be deserted. *dances* Definitely going to the gym!!

Q word

Hey guys, this was bugging me all night. I've already found the q Chinese words, but almost all of those are swearing so it's probably not appropriate.

Anyways, cassiee needs a Q firefly word for a school assignment she's doing. Am I forgetting something obvious like planet/moon name or something? The help is appreciated (and like I said, I've got all the q chinese/pinyin words already).

So the one side effect of yesterday's much work appears to have been a loss of ability to count. My culture sups won't be ready for collection for 24 hrs...which means that I should be here around 6pm instead of 1pm. Doooooh. Or have just come in tomorrow since longer wouldn't have hurt them. But I'm here, so I'll do my pcr experiment, go to gym, hopefully get B to answer the phone by then and then collect sups...hopefully that will be 6ish. B will just have to deal w/ me smelly. That or oh, I don't know, answer the phone and feed me lunch before I work out.

*growls* I'm usually not this annoyed at lack of phone contact except that umm, he's had time for workout, he's had time for lab, and it's not like him to not call me back. Something tells me that this must be the result of the noise blocking ear phones and his phone not being on his desk to vibrate.
