remix redux pimping
Jan. 29th, 2006 05:12 pmthe remix redux challenge is open again this year. Signups open until midnight feb 3.
Man, I'd really like to do this this year, but given I still have ficathon assignments outstanding, WIP bugging me, Award judging around the corner, and supposedly a portion of my brain/energy that I'm supposed to devote to grad school, I really don't think I can swing it.
*pouts*
Maybe someone will volunteer to do it on a one-one basis when I get my plate cleared a little.
Now then, it's time to end the weekend of procrastination and hurriedly throw some stuff together for work. Right after I get a shower and sacrifice a virgin in hopes of cold and less muggy weather while the damn heater is one.
(Obviously, I need Dean to do another exorcism of the heating system).
*smirks* BTW, I was umm, surprised how few people commented on my "Down the Rabbit Hole" post. Course, you guys probably thought I just inhaled too many chemicals that day and was hallucinating. Not posting the link for comments but more in case someone missed it and could use a grin.

Gaaaahhhhh....I don't know why I have absolutely no interest in doing work. Couldn't make myself do it yesterday at the lab and have piddled around today as well. Gaaaah. *shakes self silly*
Got the rest of B's valentine's day gift -- started to think the book of puppy's pictures might end up feeling too girly to recieve alone so I took the opportunity to go ahead and purchase the other two CDs of Hypnogaja since he's said repeatedly how much he enjoyed Below Sunset. Plus, well, I so haven't been happy with the last two hard rock CDs I bought. Both waay too much incubus like for me to listen to very long even if there are one or two songs that I like. Hypnogaja on the other hand, the songs are just mixed on that RIGHT note for my ear that I don't care how similar the songs sound. I could listen to the lead singer for ever. (heh, B calls them Tool Lite).
So hopefully they'll arrive in time.
Okay...off to journal article hell.

Whee.
Presentation is thrown together. Now I remember why I was putting it off ---> I'm so sick of reading about IL-23 and I still can't believe how little about it my boss knows. Gaaaaaaah. Plus everything new I read just shows that hell lab pussy footed around enough that we've been scooped on everything major we were to publish in the paper I'd be second/mid-author on. I dunno if the thing is even getting published anymore.
But that's done.
Still need to look at data to see if I can reason anything out of it from just the one repetition. Bah, I don't know what my boss thinks talking about this is going to do -- I don't have hardly any new data since we talked about it before Xmas. Methinks it's just the "need" to give me face time to feel like she's doing her job.
