Is there anything cannon about the order that Book belongs to or under what circumstances he joined? All I recall is the bit from Serenity (pilot) where he says he's been out of the world. Nothing else.

Anyone?

Is there even anything about when he did? I mean, we have nothing to say that he stayed w/ whatever he was doing (presumably alliance) through the entire war, right?

ETA -- nevermind After rereading through the fact sheets I have and then going to the pilot scripts, saw that all we know was he was at the southdown abbey (presumably located on persephone) and that he'd been there for a while. i interpreted his knowledge of the Battle of Serenity to mean that he didn't join the abbey till after the war was over most likely.

Invisible man has started crackvan recs --->http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=crack_van&keyword=Invisible+Man+Fanfic+Recs&filter=all

Which is good, cause there is SOOOOO much bad fic written in that fandom, the good fic needs to be dragged out into the light of day.

Wheeeee!!! Guess what I have ---- hot pickle relish that I (think) I can eat. Courtesy of the local amish;) Can't wait to buy hotdogs, make the hotdog buns, and go to town.

Hmmm...wonder of hot relish will work w/ tuna fish?

Damn, I think my hopes of not suffering any effects from the flu shot have just been shattered. Hopefully tomorrow won't be worse than tonight...especially since I'm mildly worried about taking excedrin for it. Hopefully sleep will do the trick.

So anyways, some musings about Shepherd Book that I've had since I've done all my research today;) LOL.

Sooo, if you use the projected ages of the actors to determine the ages of the characters in the 'Verse, you realize, that makes Book 46 the year the War breaks out. And 51 by the Battle of Serenity.

woooooow! So does that mean his midlife crisis entry at the abbey was a bit late or what? I don't know, I always imagined book younger because Ron Glass doesn't seem quite that old...or at least not that much older than the rest of the crew (for perspective, Mal and Wash - who would be the same age according to actor's years of birth - were 20 and 24 at the same time). I mean, yeah, 10-15 years, I imagined, which I guess fits, but still...wow.

I know, I know, age doesn't always make anyone wiser. It just struck me as odd when I started to think about it.
