This is me, not laughing
Jul. 13th, 2005 09:04 amDear PTB,
I know, I know. I complained too loudly about my sore thumb joint last night. So you thought this would be funny...but it's not. It's really really really not. Moreover, it promises to become excruciating when my hands are sweating inside latex gloves.
this is me, trying not to piss you off anymore. Think we could work together and bury the hatchet here??
kthx,
me.
Yep...woke up this morning...and a place on my good thumb itched below the nail. Thought it was just an old papercut that was healing or something. Boy was I wrong. Now I have a raised blister that is even itchier on it. WTF? I took shower last night, did dishes, and went to bed. When did I do something in there to justify a rash? And if it is a bug bite, it's from a damn stupid bug. Hardly any flesh in that place to bite --- many more places to go after blood. And if you dare say it must be a spider bite, I'll come and hit you cause that would mean I'd never be able to sleep in my bed again.
Siiigh....I'll go andstart finish getting ready for work and then put a bandaid and cortisone on it for the trip there. Hopefully that will calm it down. *crosses fingers*

:) Yeah, hockey reached a new labor agreement. Now hopefully, I'll still like the game after all the stupid changes they are making to it.
I really hate it when sports make changes designed to make it EASIER to score points so game is supposedly more enjoyable. If people can't take the time to learn the strategy and finesse points of a game and are just watching for the goals, please stay the hell away from sports that I like. You've already ruined basketball, close to ruining football, so keep your nose out of soccer!!

Okay...My thumb can go ahead and break out in strange blisters for all I care. Obviously they are good luck:):)
My data from last night looks absolutely gorgeous!! Standard Error couldn't look smaller on most of the timepoints and it's just, gorgeous:):):):)
Yes, I know, my time in hell has made me over excitable over small things.

Come on, hon!!! The Inisde is on...where's my viewing partner at????
( spoilers! )
ETA...soo, I've been thinking ever since I read a review (don't ask where) that said that The Inside was at it's best when it stopped looking at the agents and focused on the procedural. At which, I was kinda like, "whaaa??? Do you not get the work that Tim Minear does or what?"
Which got me to thinking, back in the day, Law and Order's ratings dropped post-Chris Noth. Eventually, it was decided that this was because the show had started focusing too much on the detective and lawyer's lives...at which, my response is, no, we just didn't like Bejamin Bratt.
This issued in the era of the cardboard cut out procedural, as I term it. Seriously, the only reason that CSI does so well is that it gives those of us who enjoy characterization small bones here and there. But on the whole, they ignore it. Granted, in some of the episodes of The Inside, Tim hit us over the head by telling us the characters as well as showing us by rubbing our faces in it. But I can understand that given that he didn't know the order that the episodes would be aired in or even that he possibly went back and re-edited after the order got screwed up.
The point is...I'm bored to death with the cardboard cut out procedural. And to tell you the truth, there's no way in hell for them to find a new crime or way to tell it at this point. Law and Order has covered it all before it started spinning off. Now it's just telling the same story through different detectives. It's tired, it's boring, and the writers/creators should know better and realize that their characters are not defined by the job they have. Very few people are. To do so is boring. They give small nods to Griffith in CSI about that, but how much do we know about the personal lives of the rest? (and frankly I don't, cause I think my total CSI show watching is 20). In contrast, how much do we know about the characters of the Inside after a grand total of what, 6 episodes now? 7? ( spoilers )
The point is, we know the characters and relate. Who knows, maybe the majority of america enjoys the cardboard cutouts because they don't have to remember anything from show to show. But I doubt it because NYPD Blue was a hit, the Sopranos is a hit, The Shield is a hit, etc etc. It's just that right now, we can't get anything else on the major networks...well, The Medium sorta counts I suppose. (By the way...if Ghost Whisperer gets picked up and renewed while the Inside dies, I will officially give up on network TV and start saving for cable).
Anyway, those are my thoughts. I'm going to ride out the happiness that was an awesome hour of TV until the mourning for my show sets in. Mona...where are you?? *pouts*
