Tell me, does one ever stop missing the weather from where they grew up?

I'd almost forgotten about how even though the days were unbearably hot, the nights always got to 60s and 70s. hee, i actually remember being chilly when we used to watch fireworks on the fourth of july.

soo not like philly. where it just ugggy all the time. plus, i think the city would literally shut down if the temperature was every over 90 with over 90% humidity.

siiiiiiiigh, i hated the culture, but i LOVED the weather of OK. 'course this is probably more reflective of the fact that I've never had a laboring job outside and the fact that my father refused to consider the idea of his daughter doing yard work or home repair outside. He always thought I'd hurt myself (I think he secretly thinks I inherited my mother's clumsiness). Course none of that was probably aided by the fact that it was much more apparent when i got sunburned between having many fewer freckles than my red headed body and the fact that my dermatgraphism lets me get heat rash easily.

Ahh well, still, miss it. not that I want to live there, but geez, be nice to visit some summer. (whereupon, i may completely change my opinion possibly).

Possible replacements include Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales and federal courts of appeals judges J. Michael Luttig, John Roberts, Samuel A. Alito Jr., Michael McConnell, Emilio Garza and James Harvie Wilkinson III. Others mentioned are former Solicitor General Theodore Olson, lawyer Miguel Estrada and former deputy attorney general Larry Thompson, but Bush's pick could be a surprise choice not well known in legal circles.


Oh, shit! While I'd be glad to not have Gonzales the Inquisitor for an Attorney General anymore, I wonder how anyone would possibly be able to respect the constitutional and ethical authority of the supreme court assuming that he survived the confirmation proceedings.

Not to mention, the confirmation hearings of Bolton leave me scared to contemplate what would constitute a scandal big enough to justify withdrawing a nomination.

Guess we'll find out if god likes liberals and moderates as much as he does conservatives.
