Whatever he's smoking, I want some!
May. 30th, 2005 07:12 pmDude, it's always nice to see public officials be completely deluded (because I know how unpatriotic it would be for me to just assume that our vice president is out right lieing to us!). I actually laughed outloud when I read this article by Brian Knowlton in the NYTimes--basically it's an article covering Cheney's interview by Larry King which will be broadcast tonite.
"Mr. Cheney added, "What we're doing down [at Guatanomo Bay] has, I think, been done perfectly appropriately."
"[Cheney] described himself as feeling "more optimistic than I've been at any time in the last four years" about prospects for peace in the Middle East."
"Calling Mr. Bolton "a superb public official," the vice president brushed aside Democrats' requests for more information on the nominee. "I think it's just an excuse," he said. "There's nothing being hidden from them.""
If Bolton is a superb public servant, I don't want to see a corrupt or inept one!! Then again, I guess if you are VP to this president, it's always nice to set the bar for performance low so that your boss looks great in comparison, huh? Someday, I'd like to see something out of the White House about world events that actually reflects reality rather than the Bush-perception
