Finally got to go through yesterday without the need for any excedrin. And better, no earache. I really think I'm going to manage to get through both of these colds without a sinus infection which only goes to prove that corn really has been the root of many of my ills in the past. Now then, if I'll only ever get brave enough to see if I can get off my mega-decongestant w/out getting a sinus infection (have been worrying for a while now of what the side effects of taking pseudofedrine for 23 yrs now will be).

In other news, I did absolutely nothing all weekend. My only excuse was I was still feeling miserable on saturday ...yesterday I was just an incredibly lazy ass person. *shrugs*

And it's raining again today:P:P I guess I shouldn't complain--we went almost two weeks w/out any. I just hate walking to work in cold rain and it is cold again..and supposed to be for a few days. I was so jealous when I was watching golf over the weekend and they were having record breaking temps in the 90s in Houston. Auugh. May is supposed to be 80s weather where I come from. It's bad enough when it's only the 70s around here normally but I don't like this 60s shit. We better have a warm and sunny June gorramit.

Darkworld Interview w/ Joss

Very interesting interview w/ Joss focusing on Serenity but entirely spoiler free. Some of it's been heard before, but some of it was new (that or my brain is telling me so cause it wanted to hear joss again).

*scratches head* I wonder if anyone ever told him to think about questions before he answers them:

Q: "And if I may ask you, Mr. President, as you know, the casualties of Iraq is again high today -- 50 more people dying. Do you think that insurgence is getting harder now to defeat militarily? Thank you. "

Bush: "No, I don't think so. I think they're being defeated. And that's why they continue to fight. The worst thing for them is to see democracy. The President can speak to that firsthand. The worst problem that an ideologue that uses terror to try to get their way is to see a free society emerge. And I'm confident we're making great progress in Iraq. "
[from today's press conference w/ President Karzai]

Progress huh? I wish he would have explained his concept of progress before all this started!

And in other news, Dobson better be careful at exactly who he tries to bitch-slap in the Republican party apparently -->
"James Dobson: Who does he think he is, questioning my conservative credentials?" Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., said in an interview. Dobson, head of the conservative group Focus on the Family, criticized Lott for his efforts to forge a compromise in the fight over the judges. Lott is still angry. "Some of his language and conduct is quite un-Christian, and I don't appreciate it," the senator said.

New vignette, unbeta-ed. Firefly of course. Durn muse is still refusing to cooperate on any of my WIP as it refuses to allow dialogue to flow and I can't do an entire chapter of interior monologue. Well, I could, but it wouldn't move the stories along very well.

I'm ready for the growing pains to be over already!

Anyway, angsty fic ahead written for the [livejournal.com profile] ff_friday challenge.

Frist blinked and Dobson isn't happy.

The bi-partisan agreement to let 3 of the 5 filibustered nominees through was accepted.

The filibuster (and our democracy) live for another day.

ETA though the republican leadership is still holding the threat of the Nuclear Option over the heads of the Democrats.

Geez guys, ever hear of bad losers?
