Sentinel AU rec

Okay, been a while, but it was worth the wait. Delilah has finished her very long Coming Up for Air Series---It's an extreme AU in which none of the events in the Sentinel happened as one would have guessed. Delilah does a wonderful job of relating the experiences of her Jim and Blair in believable and beautiful language. I don't want to say too much because that would spoil the first installment for you. Go and read but be prepared for something you would never expect. Delilah is wonderful at having the story give you little twists that are both unexpected and welcome.

inlovewithnight is a true servant of teh plot bunnies

Well what started as a random FF discussion turned into a plotting session after the bunnies siezed control of inlovewithnight's computer. Their allure and power are reflected in the fact that somehow they brainwashed me into downloading AIM (which I swore I'd never do after eradicating it when it wouldn't let me talk to ANYONE several years ago). Once online, the bunnies continued to keep poor inlovewithnight hostage as they prompted my muse to continue to pursue the AU they have planted.

The nice thing is that the bunny she spawned promises to be mostly fluffy and fun w/ just enough angst to keep my muse happy. Or at least that's how it seems now.....I don't see any devil horns on their heads yet:) However, as she was witness to the spawning of the bunny, I've insisted that inlovewithnight stay involved....hopefully the collaboration will allow for sufficient shippiness (I think everyone except Book will end up paired). Since we're both complete virgins at collaborative fic, it may be a while before we have anything worth posting. In the meantime, we promise to continue to taunt you with small references to our evil plot;) LOL.

Hmmm....Her w/ the international relations, me w/ the science, and both of us insane...this promises to be a wild ride. And no....Camouflage is not forgotten, I'm just incredibly jazzed right now to be plotting something that I plan to continue to remind myself is FUN and not take the fic too seriously. Seriousness is the bane of my muse and only beckons the demons of writers block.

Okay....must set the voracious bunnies down and go to work to do the science *whines* Then home to clean dammit before allowing the bunnies to eat my mind again!!

Mostly just want to see if something that cassiee said was true or an april fool's joke:) Nothing really new to talk about:) Finally got the playlist in my mp3 player right I think.....and a very lazy day that I'd much rather be out soaking up the sunshine before our weekend of crap weather.....*shh, i think they turned the heat off in my building this morning*

#1) Firefly -- neroli66 -> Mal. My first favorite and probably my most enduring favorite. Firefly is the one show in which I love every character to bits, but Mal still holds a special place to me. Honorable to a fault, but still no problem putting you down if you get in his way. And day by day the BDM gets closer and closer. And just a hint, River is the second fave probably. :)

#2) House -- kurukami -> House. Yep, I love it when people say what they think and hold no punches. I've had many a favorite teacher w/ similar personality traits. Fortunately, I've never hit on them (nor been hit on by them either). House is just so much fun that I can even over look my distaste for substance abuse.

#3) Angel -- kurukami -> S3 and beyond Wesley. Yum. Hehe, seriously, I find the directions that Joss and Co took w/ Wes to be incredibly insightful. Parallels can be drawn between him, angel, spike, and of course everyone's favorite bad boy Mal. Bring on the dark!

#4) Buffy -- docmichelle -> Dawn. Yes, yes, I know she is the bane of existence for hardcore buffy fans but I always loved her. The Season of glory was my favorite and I loved Dawn because we were both insecure little sisters that eventually learned our older siblings were far from perfect. The dawnster rules.

#5) Farscape -- kurukami -> Hmm, okay, confession time, after writing these down I've had to really think about some of them. But in retrospect, kurukami is right, Chianna is the character I find the most intriguing and ambiguous in the show. I love morally ambiguous characters who never really mean to hurt people (does that help people out for the more obscure ones here?).

#8) Star Trek: Deep Space 9 -- fleshlycherry -> Miles O'Brien. For a character who started out as almost nothing, it was nice to see him move onto a show that showcased the talents of the actor and was just better written (sorry, TNG while amusing wins no points in the writing department). the Miles/Bashir evolving relationship and just the evolution of Miles's character in general. And no, not a slasher fan, just talking about the friendship here.

ETA --- there are hints to these in the comments because I know I don't gush much on them.

#9) Mash -- docmichelle -> Hawkeye. Awww.....he's sooo lovable. And always in trouble. And lovable. And it is a testament to his acting ability and charisma that he can hook me so entirely on his character w/out being incredibly good looking (yes trapper, I still admire you too)

#10) The Shield

ETA...Okay, I've not discussed a lot of these shows in much depth, so do your best to guess if you don't know. Promise, I'm not changing them after I get comments:) LOL. Oh...and I won't call it cheating if you peek at what's been previously guessed:)

And amazingly I'm still freakingly hyper happy. I dunno whether to blame it on the sun or the hormones.

Has anyone had the update journal button run from them recently? Or maybe I'm just hallucinating?

Today is the first day in a new life---I've embraced it by formally
changing my name to "the girl who was formally human" and embarking on
a new career in film writing. Right now I'm really hoping that Rob
Zombie is ready to work on another epic horror movie. I love the
genre so much and he is obviously the only one in the industry that
really "gets it". After that I'll move to the Sudan because I really
need the sun I think. And start a corn farm:)

#6) Invisible Man -- The Official. Yeah, he's not much on the drama. But I just find him as a character soo intriguing. he's not completely morally bankrupt, and he does cling very strongly to his own beliefs. Imagining what made him the way he is is very intriguing.

#7) Dark Angel -- Herbal Thought. yeah I know, another exception to my general dourness on substance abuse. But he's just so damn fun in such a dark show.

#10) The Shield -- Det. Claudette Wyms. She's great. CCH Pounder does an amazing job of making you respect and love her while still wondering a teensy bit why she isn't more accepting of the Strike team---no wait, that second part is accomplished by the writers. I love to see strong women characters who aren't willing to change who they are to please others. Wyms embodies that ideal.

AND I can't find my gorram tv remote. it's been gone 2 days and I have no clue where *cries*

ETA april fool's jokes are gone. Darn, I was hoping they'd make the whining thing permanent.
