Feb. 11th, 2005 01:21 amWell, I made it through the day without reading anymore farscape episode transcripts. Think I stopped five episodes into season 2 as I think I was missing a lot of Chianna's character development by not seeing her body language and such. Sigh, oh well, season 2 dvds should be on the way. Dunno about the season 3, having a hell of a time actually paying for them since the seller (same as I got the S2 from) had it set up so I couldn't use paypal actually from ebay for it like I did the first set. And now she's given me conflicting statements on how to pay. Geez, may just see if I can't track down the mailing address and send off a check maybe. Only good news is its soured me somewhat on the ebay experience so I'm resisting buying more dvds for a bit....which is good cause otherwise I'd rapidly undo the progress I'd made on my credit card this month.
Still in awe over The Shield and sad that I can't seem to find much in way of fansites for it. Fanfiction for it is pitifully missing on fanfiction.net. Found a lot of discussion boards but of course need to stay away so i'm not spoiled beyond belief. No cap sites came up. A few communities on lj of which icons are only one. Just kinda amazed that it has such a small following or at least following that isn't incredibly fannish. I mean, Homicide had such a huge following and I figured they'd all probably get into this show. *shrugs* Oh well, probably for the best, I don't really need the distractions right?
And I know it's only cause I've seen the shows about 50 times, but was somewhat disconcerted to stick in firefly after my shield marathon and not be able to get the warm fuzzies from it. Was actually thinking it moved to slow and such. Must remind myself, different genres and different story telling approaches.
Okay, off to see if I can actually get to sleep after laying around sleeping/watching dvds all day while I was sick. Seems to be over though so that's good.
