Finally...

jebbypalWell, maybe with the week being well and truly over tomorrow, things will turn around a little bit for me. After 2 days with no nosebleed, woke up this morning and promptly got a gusher that ruined a shirt and hit the carpet again. Pretty tired of this already.
Might see B today - we'll see. He's pretty down right now, which I sort of understand as JandJ reversed course as they finally realized that he only has a phd and only 2 years experience, and so they withdrew all the offers they had been giving him to run things because it's "not right" that people with more experience report to him. Okay, you know, i get the annoyance and frustration that that gives him, and yet, I shrug at it as it's not anything that new. He'd been told he'd eventually have to get an mba to progress and the normal rotation of jobs he'd have to go through. As he'd shined, they'd started trying to put him on other paths, but it turned out that the people doing that hadn't been with the company long and didn't quite get the structure. It's sad, it sucks, and yet it's not anything new at all. It didn't matter how much my dad knew at SWB back in the day or how well he worked with a lot of people (to an extent - he never played the right politics), when it came down to it, he only had a technical associates degree from college, and so there was a certain level he could progress to. I'm sure if he'd had a full 4 year degree, there'd have been another ceiling. it happens - you deal with it, or you find a company it doesn't matter to, or you go get the next degree.
I've gotten an invitations to some last author standing communties..a couple are slightly intriguing, but I have to admit the fact that we're probably entering into a busy part of the season. Septemember might be somewhat slow, but it will pick up after that. I don't know...on the smallest one i've got the longest time to decide so I may think about it some more. Of course, that's also the one I know the least on the canon side..then again, maybe that would be benefit.
Anyway, after going back to bed for another 4 hours this morning after my nosebleed stopped, I think we can conclude that I've caught up on my allergymed induced sleep debt of last weekend!
