You know...I really hate the news

If you are strongly and completely pro-life, you may not want to read the following:
Just glanced at the New York times and was stunned/shocked/angered/in disbelief over the fact that GW actually called prolifers durng their march on Jan 22 (the anniversary of Roe Vs Wade) to assure them that their movement would not fail. I'm sorry, but beyond my support for the pro-choice movement, I feel it is incredibly wrong to publicly voice that you will ensure the overturning of a judicial judgement. I don't know, I just expect a little more subtlety....but then again, this is GW right. The man who said we'd "smoke 'em out" and such. *shakes head* This still just boggles so much that I can't really respond to it properly.
On the up side, the supreme court did refuse to keep Terri Schiavo hooked to a feeding tube so at least someone won't be completly **cked over by the Bush's delusions of grandeur.
Again, if you were a prolifer and actually read this, tough. I have a very very big issue with anyone legislating what happens in my body, especially spoiled brat men who have never had to deal with the possibilities of such life altering changes from which there is no escape. I don't agree w/ the pope on birth control (or much of anything despite being raised catholic) and I don't agree with the agenda of the pro-life movement.
Feminism needs to make a comeback and set us on equal footing again. I feel like the last five years we've lost 20 yrs of progress in the arena of equal rights.
