Xmas Wishlist

Honestly, if I don't do this, I fear that deathisyourart will enter the country illegally and torture me with dirty stockings until I give in to the holiday spirit.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.


1) Completely altruistic: Biden, Clark, Edwards, or Gore wins the democratic presidential nomination. (please please, don't let it be Clinton vs Giuliani/Romney....Canada is still too cold for me even with global warming thank you very much).

2) A vid in any of my fandoms to the song Busted by Matchbox 20. If you don't know my fandoms, ask mona1347, deathisyourart, or halcyon_shift.

3) The Unit anything featuring the boys...in non slash ways please.

4) Not totally altruistic: A fast end to the Writers Guild strike. Really, it's just because I'm going to be broken hearted if something as stupid as that causes Life and Journeyman to die untimely deaths (come on, their ratings really don't need much help in accomplishing that probably).

5) In case a muse is listening, an idea for an original story wouldn't be completely amiss.

6) The best piece of advice you've ever been given. Odds are, it's globabally applicable.

7) Firefly fic featuring Saffron. Again, no slash...porn not really either unless your muse has to go there.

8) Vid or fic recs are welcome. Plot welcome -- if it has plot, I'll even read slash porn. Or mpreg as poisontaster has proven.

9) Go sign up and participate in winter_deaddrop and/or uncharted_elves. Really, I want it for you. :)

10) For 2008 to really be a much much much much much much better year for every single person on my flist. By hook or by crook!

alternate wish A: Rec me some interesting people that you think I should have on my flist. They don't have to be into fandom - just interesting folk that post semi-regularly.

alternate wish B: Fic/icons/vids (yeah right on that one) for The Inside.

alternate wish C: Okay, really, Fic/icons/vids for Cupid (the short lived Jeremy Piven show) and well, I just may start a religion in your name.

alternate wish D: Enjoy your holiday season no matter which (if any) holiday you celebrate.
