My first foray into news and politics site in my new apartment

And now I feel dirty.

This is it: Senate gives in on wiretapping. I officially despair of Bush and Cheney (and company) being held accountable for ANYTHING. Also, I really fear for who our next few leaders will be and what sort of precedent they'll take from all of this. But more than that, I'm pissed. What the hell do these democrats think we sent them to washington to do??????? Let me tell you, it WASN'T THIS!! Idiots.

Obviously, now would be the time too call/write/email/flood your house of representatives office with appeals for sanity.

Energy policies of four democratic presidential candidates. Reminds me, gotta change my voters registration.

New trojan virus eats your mp3 files

Wesley Clark's Yearly Kos keynote address Haven't watched it myself yet, but can't wait. Sadly, I know I'd have seen it earlier if he announced his candidacy....oh well, I'll have to hope for a Edwards-Clark ticket!

(no subject)

Okaaayyyy.

Well, I got a ton done yesterday that shouldn't have taken me as long as it did to do. All I can claim is illness/stress/allegra making me sick delayed me, I don't know what. But the kitchen is mostly put together though things could do w/ some moving around. Also, whoever put the cabinets in the kitchen has obviously never used a kitchen. All mish mash of sizes and none at all really that useful. Gaah. Oh, and btw, the majority of this apartment was built for midgets. I kid not. I mean, the shower head is almost too short for ME! That's like, short.

Also, a good number of boxes gone because of above as well as me putting all the BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS in my hall closet. It's kind of disturbing really. Items high on list to do eventually is to sell a bunch of books to second hand stores as well as find a second hand dress shop to sell all the formal gowns that I'm sure don't fit anymore. (My mom SWORE that I'd someday need formal gowns and so I should keep the formal gowns from high school. Guess what, never even used them for sorority because we didn't do that sort of formal really. *rolls eyes* And no, they don't fit since these were all fitted to me in pre-hip (and chest for that matter) days).

Bedroom is still a mess I still have a few boxes strewn. i need to find the widgets to my bookshelves to be able to put the shelves back in and make useful. I need to do a shitload of laundry, but that can wait till I go to buy a few pairs of khakis and such. Oh, and I should probably check on the state of my finances before I leave the house. And I hope the phone payment I made to discover (since they seemed to not send me a bill this month and insist I don't owe one and no I don't think I'll pay interest on my balance just because you feel generous) goes through --- when they asked for zip code for confirmation, I didn't know if they meant zip code the bank has on file or the zip code for my discover card billing address (which I did get around to changing). I should probably try to go by a bank today to on the way out of town if the branch has hours on saturday...which probably means I need to get off my ass and out the door very very soon.

So yes, clothes shopping and Ikea store for a computer desk. I hope. All to be done in PA because I'm fairly certain the only Jersey Ikea's are up NY way and no, I'm not tackling that!!

At least Garmin agreed to recognize all the addresses of the stores. :) And I've told him to avoid toll roads though other than that the options consist of "shortest distance and shortest time" neither of which will probably get him to avoid the center of trenton (although, I'll be very very unhappy if it takes me through northeast philly for ANYTHING!!)

Wish me luck.
