Friday!!

Yay for friday.

Boo for Wednesday night charlie horse in my calf that still has my calf sore. I've never had issues with charlie horses until I got the sports massage back in December. Which really did help my back, but she only spent like 5 minutes on my legs and my calves have never been quite the same. sigh. I really want to figure out if I can find a sports masseuse that can do the necessary things without reducing me tears though.

About half way through the first episode of S2 Expanse. Okay, so the Bobbie Draper story? Completely different than the book so far. Which I suppose is helpful in me not quite criticizing the casting. I mean, yes, they did get a WOC so yay for sticking to that source material. But a big part of Bobbie in the books was also her size -- there she was so tall and stocky (and constantly referencing her Samoan/Pacific Islander heritage) that she had to have a specialized combat suit which was why she had an older model etc. And also influenced her interactions with men obviously. Instead we seem to have the WOC version of Starbuck for the most part. Which is probably not an issue, but would be lovely to see representation from the non-standard size woman in the show as well. I guess we can't have everything.

Things on Rocicante are almost verbatim the book, although sped up over all. And they are making Amos a bit more psycho than I recall from my binge reading in his interactions with Thomas Jane's character.

Regardless, still good TV! And Nick E Tarabay, more often known as Ashur from Spartacus series, is in this!! He's such a great actor, I hope he has more than just an occasional part.

We got to watch the premier this weekend; I'm so happy it's back! Your book comments really make me want to pick them up but I'm also hesitant to get ahead of the show's plot as we love it so much and it is very much our "together" show so I don't want to get ahead of LP. I'm thinking from your comments though that I'd be ok to hit up the first book (which seems to be the first season-ish?)?
