Happy New Year to all. And congratulations on surviving 2016.

So, my New Years resolution, beyond maintaining my fitness physically and mentally in the marathon that will be American politics for the next 4 years, is to start writing again. I miss it.

To that end, I'm going to start slow with a goal of at least 1 ficlet per week. So if you have a prompt, please drop it my way. The obvious fandoms apply, but if you have something for a newer fandom, feel free to ask.

Any particular point in time in the series or Panter's life you are thinking here? Because really, there is the rare time when Panter didn't deserve better and wow this has the potential to get out of control.

As the heir of Land Simms, Panter has been raised to expect the best of everything while being the best. To not be the best would call into question the rank and power of Land Simms, and that is simply unacceptable. It is unspoken that one must do whatever is necessary to be the best. Besides, as a member of the 9, and of Land Simms, she's automatically better than the common man. So taking Jakk isn't really a risk, now is it?

She deserves the boost needed to be the best and she deserves to get away without any consequences.

The cravings aren't fair. The way her hands shake when she can't get away to get her fix aren't fair. panter Simms didn't deserve this. Land Simms deserved better from their heir.

I've always thought she got the crap end of many plot lines. I just want to hug her and have her use some dirty fight moves (which she clearly would have picked up hanging around Pree's bar) against Delle to just not fucking die.
