And this would be why Amazon is winning.....
You know when you decide that you'll try to go to a bookstore to buy a book instead of immediately ordering from amazon (save a bit of gas carbon costs theoretically)? Inevitably they don't have it.
So this weekend I checked out B&N website and found they have a function where you can reserve a book and they'll inform you if a specific store has it in stock. Glad I did, cause as usal, they didn't have it.
So, I went to Borders website and they have the same function...theoretically. No notice emailed to me as to yay or nay if they have it (though they do helpfully already list the ones that are definitely out of stock).
So yeah...amazon still wins.
The chair is good :) Though I didn't really use it much yesterday because I was devouring Outlander. Overall, a very good book (and definitely one of the better timetraveling books I read -- I still remember the drek of a book of a woman from 1990s LA that got landed in imperial rome. Yechhhh). Good enough to finish the 800 pages in 12 hours;) Though the did have the odd habit of telling you X happened after the fact and you go back to where you should have seen it happening and there being no mention of it. Happened three or four times, mostly towards the end. Probably she and the copyeditor were going a bit crosseyed she had to cut something for length. Now I really want to buy more in the series and see if they're horribly derivative (*martin*) or actually do something novel.
Laundry is done. Back doesn't hurt, but my side is strained again - probably a combo of sleeping all friday night in the recliner (though it didn't hurt immediately) and the awkwardness of unpacking the chair. Guess I'll just stick to cardio for an entire week and see if it goes away cause I gotta either start exercising again or buy all new clothes for summer. I'll go w/ the cheaper alternative.
Anyone else checking out Kings tonight?

Hello! This is actually what I do for a living, believe it or not. Along with the five thousand other things a bookseller in a large store like Borders does, we also read each online book/dvd/cd reserve request, search for said book/dvd/cd, and e-mail you back as soon as we can.
Sometimes it takes a few minutes, as customers who are actually in the store have to take priority. Another option would be to call your local store, which would get you a much faster response.

Yes, I can call....I just figured email should be easier theoretically since they can get to it when they aren't busy. It may just be a one off thing w/ that store having issues w/ server/email as well.
