Yes, I'm weird.

Ignore me, spamming to avoid cleaning..

So, one of the things about me is that, as I was lactose intolerant a bit before lactaid was invented, I grew up without ever eating dry cereal. Instead, cream-of-wheat, malt-o-meal (chocolate :)), or oatmeal was my morning breakfast. The thought of which I knows horrifies many a person. However, me being me, and my mother not wishing to make every breakfast a fight over me eating, realize that any of the above was served with enough sugar to rival your favorite sugary cereal.

One of the annoyances of my newish allergies is that I slowly began to realize that many of the fortifications put into cream-of-wheat and malt-o-meal did bother me (usually only on a mental level, but it was a bit ago so I don't remember the symptoms well). So I've been eating oatmeal only for the past four years or so. Which got really boring until I started putting nuts and apples in it. But even then...just well, tiresome (Which, given how long I've eaten those three things for breakfast, has an entirely different meaning than you might assume).

A while back, I noticed organic rolled wheat cereal at Shop-Rite. None of the extra fortifications that one would expect (thank you, organic. Though I will add that if you do eat a lot of organic grains, a multi-vitamin isn't completely amiss). So I bought it but I hadn't ever gotten up the courage to try it as I expected it would be.....blah to say the least.

This week, I've been so over oatmeal it wasn't even funny. Especially on the days I was lazy and had some for dinner too. So I decided today would be the day to try the rolled wheat cereal.

*dances*

Different taste than oatmeal. Yayz. Different texture than normal cream of wheat. Yayz. Actually, much more flavor than normal cream-of-wheat (as judged by needing much less sugar, I think, to sweeten).

Now if I could only stand the taste of milk enough to prepare either it or oatmeal w/ milk so I could get more calories in the morning....(Side effect of never ever drinking white milk --- I can't STAND the taste. *shudders* Chocolate or none at all, thank you very much).
