Capitulation

congress passes war funding bill NYtimes --
House totals: 280 yes, 142 no. 140 no - democrats (86 democrats voted for it)
Senate: 80 yes to 14 no (14 - democrats no). Sen Biden (D-DE) voted yes

Georgia10 points out that Senators Clinton and Obama waited until 8:45 pm to quietly give their no votes.

Umm, hello? Leadership anyone? So these two democratic presidential candidates basically waited until they KNEW the bill would PASS to send up a symbolic No vote to point to throughout their campaign? UNACCEPTABLE, I say. Totally.

This leaves the huge question that if we're still entrenched in Iraq, will Obama and Clinton have the balls to work on a way to withdraw the troops or find whatever plan to make sure they aren't there with a huge bullseye? To me, that answer looks like NO.

Thanks, Senator Obama and Senator Clinton. You just narrowed down my field of Presidential candidates to vote for.

After seven years of GW, the majority of the American people (let alone the Democratic party) want a LEADER. Not someone who waits to check the polls before they propose legislation. Yes, we want you to consider the intelligence and the CONSEQUENCES, but waiting until the passage of a controversial and almost universally panned bill is assured is NOT LEADERSHIP.

Thank you for trying, but you just showed you don't have it.
