So yeah, I can't decide if I like this holding fics back until they're finished or not. On the one hand, gives me incentive to finish. On the other, it makes it possible to go back and revise which only gives my muse time to dream up things to torment me. Yes this is brought to you by the frog who is insisting that I can't stick to just constantine and dean POVs for the crossover. Which, accckk.
Bad frog, bad.
I've also got to get past this bare bones dialogue habit I've picked up. It actually seems to work in a lot of short SN stuff, I know, but bad bad habit. Plus, I can't do that when I continue TR -- it's not how it started. A little easier in firefly though to not do that since I know the characters so well. But again, bad bad habit because it keeps me from getting as comfortable in other fandoms and will give me hell in original fic. PT and azure are very good at calling me out and beating me for this when they beta for me. But gah, I just suck at descriptions anyway and never care a lot for them in books I ead either and...excuses.
And at this point I should just admit that I'll never get joss100 done at all. Let's say it all together now, "jebbypal sucks at ficathons or prompts of any sort. She should be shot if she ever signs up for another one".
I actually woke up at six again today, but I stayed in bed because it just felt good for a while. More weird dreams again -- no survivor thank goodness, but my gory suspenseful everyone's trying to kill everyone dreams of yore have made a reappearance. Which probably says something very disturbing about my psyche and upbringing, but hey, what can I say. My dad loved explosive films and they pretty much never censored what I watched if I wanted to watch (though my mother still gripes about me forcing her to take me out of the theater during the last twenty minutes of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when I was eight-ish).
Sooo much work to do at work. I honestly don't know if I'm going to manage to start writing papers before xmas break or not just based on having so many experiments to do. Which is fine I guess, and I'll know a lot better during the week before when I can't order any more cells since I won't be around to finish the experiments, but still. Gah. My thumb is tired, y'all.
Okay, time to get read, go to the post office finally (hears screams of joy from
inlovewithnight), and go to work. At least we missed any rain/snowy/overcast weather that they had predicted for today. Sun is so good.
