methinks [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll modified her bunny flinger 3000 with blow torches so they could get to my muse.

That, or the Life on Mars crack is just that good.

When will I learn to stop taking up flisters on fandom pimping offers. My flist just has too much good taste dammit.

Life on Mars...my reaction to it is that it's the cop show equivalent of Farscape...Sadly minus the really hot guys in leather. Well, I guess technically they do have the Village People...err I guess...I dunno, I wasn't there for 1973 in any form.

OMG! I loved LOM. I've heard Skiffy is doing a version for us here in the US, but I am not so sure I am happy about that. I mean, I love QAF (but i think that has EVERYTHING to do with Gale) but I am not so sure some pretty people is going to work for Skiffy. And I worry it won't be the same level of grit and un-PCness!

I don't know how, but before I lost my cable connection a couple of Brit shows fell into my lap and I LOVED THEM!!!

Green Wing was hysterical!

ABC is doing a version of it actually. The guy who created Ally McBlahblah to be exact. I am apprehensive, but mostly because I don't think we need a remake and America in the 70s seems to have been very different from what was going in England at the same time.

ABC? ACK! That's even worse.

I think the tone of the show will depend on which year and where in the country it will be set.

And as far as I could tell the issues wouldn't be all that disimilar...other than maybe the City vs. ManU thing. Our cops were just as misogynistic & the Mob ran everything in the bigger cities.

We also had it a bit rough with our extensive involvement in Vietnam, Roe v Wade being passed, NOW pushing for a women's rights amendment, and various Racial issues.

But that is what I mean by saying I am afraid it won't be/can't have the same kind of "OMG I can't believe this is how it was" aspect...our censors would only let it go so far.

(Funny you should mention Ally because I am watching Callista in The Birdcage at this very moment!)
