*pats self on back*

Well....I managed to keep my self control last night. Hopefully I don't regret it and I can find the pair I really liked again next spring. *crosses fingers that they aren't just fall shoes* If nothing else, I'll keep an eye out for when they drop down from the 90+ price they currently are.
Also convinced myself to buy the cheaper pair of dress shoes and ordered them in two widths just in case. Dress shoes annoy me because normally my feet fit into regular shoes....but I do know that for sandals I always have to have the "W" setting at payless. We'll see what happens.
After that, found two pairs of columbia shoes that are possible for winter. One is more of a sneaker which is a definite detriment since we do get snow accumulation out to wazzoo here. So I'm leaning towards the one w/ a higher ankle. Columbia so I know they are a decent brand and they aren't extravagantly priced. Gonna wait a bit before I buy them though.
Is anyone ready to kill me over my shoe blather?
Watched Gilmore Girls and House last night (since I'd already seen Supernatural pilot).
I have to admit, I stopped watching this like two season ago after Lorelai had gone through the like three guys straight and stuff and I was tired of the whole dean/luke's nephew thing. And Rory at Yale was just painful to watch. REally really painful. I but I got back into when i watched some reruns this summer (since there was never anything else on after the inside died)
I thought they handled things pretty well. It's obvious that Lorelai proposed for all the wrong reasons and I"m a little disappointed that Luke hasn't called her on it. But oh well, it's bound to come out horrifically since the GG writers thrive on angst almost as much as Joss.
Rory, it's nice to finally see her have a breakdown. I do really like the interaction between her and rich boy. I'm surprised rich boy hasn't pointed out yet that his father was obviously doing some sort of "master plan" to make Rory acceptable to the rest of his family for his heir thing. It's going to be interesting to see how it will play out. Which is good because I don't have the whole David Boreanz lust thing even when he doesn't have a blood belly and you couldn't pay me to watch what from the commericials is obviously bad bad bad writing.
Obviously part of my house love is hearing everyone's after show snark. Even if I'm not watching in real time, I'll still be spoiling myself silly by watching this. The writing has gotten better this year and I'm glad to see that the whole formula thing has been turned on it's head. We didn't have five wrong diagnoses this time until we finally saved him. *pats House writers on the head*
I liked the house/stacy interaction. Much better than the whole cameron flirtation. Let's face it -- april/nov romances aren't intelligent to write, or at least, they rarely are. Cameron is soo obviously not at the same level of House and he knows it and treats her as such. Patronizing romantic relationships are rarely fun to watch. Bad bad match.
That said, one of my major gripes that I've identified with this show is Cuddy. Not that i don't like her, I do. I love that they gave us a strong female character right off the bat. But I bet you the majority of the writers last year were male. Why? Because they never have filled her out. Even Wilson is better filled out than her. We know what Wilson's social life is to an extent -- he's married, unhappily, many times. He has affairs. Cuddy? Hell, have we even had confirmation of her sexual orientation? It's unbalanced and I don't like it. And I have to say that I do have a small place in my heart for cuddy/house. I'd even lay money to say that cuddy/wilson might have happened once or twice. So flist, if they give us any cuddy info, please share so i have something to look forward to in rerun land.
Wilson got screen time and part of a story line. And how I missed my wilson&house snark (no, I'm not on the wilson/house bandwagon. You read my flist more than once, you know i'm not a slasher. Though i have nothing against those of you who are).
All and all, pretty enjoyable and they even managed to work alot of ISSUES into it. Please, someone make Cameron grow the hell up. That or give her a fatal, incurable disease so all we have to deal w/ is her ghost. I hate that you have a high level medical specialist that is a woman, so you obviously have to give her the emotional issues. Why not Chase? He coulda married the dying woman and not wanted to ever tell a patient they were dying.
Yes, me hate stereotypes. So instead I'll be watching Supernatural for the pretty boys and praying it doesn't get scary enough to give me nightmares. I never said I wasn't a hypocrite.
Oh, and the benadryl didn't help a lot. After I finally woke up this morning, I don't feel so lethargic as I did yesterday, but there is still plenty of pressure behing my eyes. No earache though, so that's something. *glares at Ophelia). I know it's down in the Carolina's, but can I help it that I'm a human barometer? Another reason I can never live in hurricane lands. Just move me to the desert now.
And yes, you'll be seeing a lot of my sept30 icons and serenity virgin. Only another 16 days that I can use them after all!!
ETA..and I can't decide if my leg stubble is bad enough to preclude wearing shorts. I've been sweating at work all week and the humidity is only supposed to be WORSE today. Ugggggghhhhh. At least it's supposed to hang around 85. *wants my days of 80 back* Yes, you know I'm officially ready for winter when I start complaining. I'm just glad this summer was enough to actually get me there by september.
