1. What would you change your name to if it wasn't such a hassle to get all your paperwork redone?
*blinks* Ya know, every once in a while it bothers me that my name is so plain and I occassionally think about what if I used my middle name. But I honestly can't think of another name I like better than Stacey. Soo....pass.;)
2. What's a fandom you love that doesn't have nearly enough people in it?
I would love for there to be more non-slash or case oriented fanfic out there for the Invisible Man. Other than that, there hasn't really been a show that I've looked into fandom for online that is small! Well, beyond the Inside. I echo poisontaster here, write fic you guys!! I would, but I've managed to miss all the key episodes.
3. Share a dorky story about yourself.
Oh gods, oh so easy. Let's see, how 'bout an insanely Okie one as well? So, in the first grade, we were doing vocab lessons. Our teacher wrote the word "gnaw" on the blackboard and asked us to use it in a sentence. Well, my hand went up in the air so fast it wasn't even funny, and I delivered the following sentence while practically bouncing: "Like when I told the weatherman this morning that 'gnaw, duh, it was raining outside'". Obviously, I meant "nah":P But that was the only thing I'd ever heard pronounced anywhere similar and we hadn't covered homophones yet:P Needless to say, my teacher cracked up laughing horribly (most of the class was about as confused as I was). She even got on the intercom to relate the story to the principal's secretary!!
4. Where's one place you really want to visit before you die?
Well, I've hardly ever been anywhere so that's not too hard to do. It would be really nice for the mid-east to reach some level of violence so I could visit that area someday just out of historical interests.
5. Where would you live if money wasn't an issue?
Umm...see above. But weather wise, I'd probably pick California or Australia.
6. How did you find this journal?
Hee, that's easy. I kept getting all this wonderful and thoughtful feedback from
poisontaster, so I finally wandered over and took a look...and found Gutterstars. I was hooked. She's been stuck w/ me ever since.
7. What's your favorite community on LJ?
ff_friday. It was one of the first challenge communities I've ever joined and probably the one I respond to the most often. It's got over a years worth of fic now and is just a pretty shiny place. Plus, it really helped me stretch a little writing wise.
8. What was your favorite childhood toy?
Omg...talk about a hard one. Just one toy?? Geeeeez. And by favorite do you mean, played with the most? or sentimental value? Okay..i guess I'll do the one that fits both sorta. I inherited this brown stuffed dog from my brother. It was small, about the size of a small bear. Not even enough to double as a pillow. but he was soft (well, after our beagle tried to 'nest' with the stuffed dog as her surrogate puppy, only the head was soft) and small and probably one of my favorite stuffed animals. Whenever I played w/ my stuffed animals, he was in the mix and he was probably slept w/ the most, especially as I got older. He finally kinda fell apart in the washer when I was like 14. :(
9. Name three shows you want to have on DVD right now. (Whether or not they're slated for release/have been released.)
1) Invisible Man season 2.
2) Boomtown
3) Cupid (the one w/ Jeremy Piven)
10. Say something nice about:
-- Another LJ user (not me!)
cassiee is incredibly artistically talented and really sweet....at least when she isn't throwing grapefruit at me and calling me granny. *ducks the shoes*
-- Yourself
I'm very, very loya and devotedl to those I care about.
-- A famous figure
Bill Clinton might have been a womanizer, but he's smarter than Kerry or Bush put together.
11. What's the biggest "OH MY GOD!" moment you've ever had from a movie, show, or book? (Warning: using "I am your father" might date you.)
Umm...about every single frigging second through Stephen King's the IT. That damn movie traumatized me for every single minute I watched it. I don't do well w/ that type of suspense on screen. Book, fine, I can do it, screen, HELL NO. LOL, really annoyed a date in college when he took me to see Scream 2 at the theater. I'd heard it wasn't too scary---and it wasn't...but the whole suspense of when would the blood start and the stretched out bleeding scenes, oh, couldn't take it. Made him take me home when there was like 10 minutes left in the movie! Fortunately, our college had a deal w/ the neighborhood theater (basically subsidized it to keep it open) where we got to see movies free, so it wasn't like he was out of money.
12. What's something weird you enjoy that gets you odd looks from other people?
Umm....ketchup. :P I grew up eating steak sauce and ketchup on lots of veggies---parents never objected cause at least I ate them. Now that I can only have the stacey-safe ketchup, I do still occassionally not mind when the green beans or mashed potatoes accidentally mix w/ the ketchup that I'm using for my meat.
13. When did you first get online?
Junior year of hs at my nerd school, so 1994. I didn't start reading fanfic till the summer after my freshman year of college (thankfully, or I would never have graduated from nerd school).
14. Name something you're really good at.
Ummmm....yeah, see I'm not much talented at anything. Before I started writing, my biggest claim to fame/talent was the fact that I have AWESOME reading comprehension. Not much of a super power, ya know. And I don't feel like I've been writing long enough to say that I'm good at it. Still learning.
15. Name something you wish you were really good at.
Having any ability whatsoever to draw at all would really be nice. I mean, no straight lines here. Hell, I can't even write neat w/out concentrating!
