Fic meme #21 and 22

 21 – Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?

Have I planned sequels? Absolutely. I don’t know that I’ve always actually followed through. I usually get the sequel bunny midway through lengthy stories and then I have to be careful that the muse doesn’t get too enamored with the sequel to get bored of writing the actual original story. As to sequels in general, omg, yes, I love them. If I enjoyed a book/fic/movie enough to finish it, the best thing ever is for the universe to continue and continue. You know, as long as you aren’t George Lucas screwing up your own trilogy

22 – Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you've thought about doing? And if not, why not?

I’ve participated in several fic-athons or exchanges, and even completed a few. Never fully tried on a big bang. Favorite experience? Hmm. That’s a hard one. I guess as far as writing, it would have to be the Supernatural genfic-athon I did a while back where I wrote a SPN/CSI crossover in response to someone’s prompt. Which required watching CSI and brushing up on Vodun.

Wow, did I not want to work yesterday, or at least not on what I needed to. which resulted in too much time wasteage at work. Bleh

I did not watch anything to do with his orangeness last night. From what I've read of the supreme court nominee it looks to be a cross between Scalia and Roberts possibly. Sigh. I do love how the republican/conservative dream for right to privacy and small government only applies to white men and corporations.

Need to make time for the chiropractor I guess later this week. Since about day 4 of being sick, I've woken with a migraine every morning -- fortunately excedrin is actually working (unlike my lovely hormone induced ones) so i don't suffer all day, but yeah, hopefully he can poke something and make it stop. And given I'm only taking the one excedrin a day, I don't think it's just rebound headache (doesn't feel like the rebound headaches I remember from college either). It is probably time to buy a new pillow or two...which I hate doing between offgassing and never knowing if the manufacturer i like still really makes the pillows the same way they used to since BB&B doesn't carry them in their stores anymore.

Workout yesterday was good and needed, and I didn't feel like crap as badly as I thought (haven't been as frequent since new year and then with a week off and being sick, had no clue how well or bad the day would go). Slept like a baby, but also had zero motivation to do the cleaning up I needed for the repairman and landlord...fortunately landlord texted and said he had to reschedule to thursday so yay!

Can I say, very quietly, that global warming aside, I love this winter? Only getting 2-3 inches of snow at at time is so much lovelier for driveway cleanup than the >6inches of the past few winters. I'm totally behind this being the case for all of 2017 for NJ.

The Expanse S2 premieres in the US tonight on SyFy!!!!

If you didn't catch S1, you should totally watch it. I'd say try S2 and see if you can jump in, but if it doesn't make sense or doesn't catch you, go back and watch S1.

It is awesome. Has awesome actors. Is a bit of a rework, but relatively faithful to the books. They've created their own language from scratch for it.

I really can't say enough about the show.

And now I need to track down some Expanse icons.
