The job in CME is history. And nothing made me regret it at all since no one questioned why I wanted to leave, and furthermore, were all congratulatory. Just gah. Repeating that it's not the hell biotech is true in the "it could always be worse" philosophy, but it wasn't good. Everyone there is demoralized ugh. And the HR department frakking sucks!! They've had a lot of turnover in that department ever since the CEO decided to fire the head of HR at the end of the year --- the gossip is that he gave her some task to do that she didn't do because she was busy doing all the rest of her job and so fired her. Methinks she just didn't suck up enough I don't know. but since then have been through 2 other heads of HR.
So the whole, not scheduling my exit interview till I contacted? Yeah, fun. And then they didn't even go over half the stuff they were supposed to per the exit interview form they sent me after the phone call. Just weird weird weird.
Of course, as is Murphy's law, the slides for the program I was coordinating didn't start coming in until yesterday afternoon. And since it's my area and I know how overworked my boss is, I'm going to be factchecking them for her on my "time off". But I do get to bill her per freelance rates.
But none of that can harsh my mood of being done with them.
So, since I found out in the HR exit interview, that I only had till midnight of yesterday to make any purchases to be paid with my FSA account (though they swear through the intricacies of the program I'm not losing money but F*** that), I went to lenscrafters to buy a new pair of glasses since I'd confirmed at lunch that they had a vastly larger selection of Oakley's compared to the eye doctor I went to yesterday. However, OMG, the place I went to was toxic!!! I don't know if it was horrible ventilation or just a feature of the cutting of high definition plastic lenses like one sales person claimed, but horrible horrible chemical smell. It didn't trigger my corn cough, but it definitely gave me a chemical toxicity headache and nausea horribly. I won't go back without a face mask, that's for sure. And I can't believe that any of the workers there aren't suffering horribly from it. OSHA violation waiting to happen.
So far so good with the new ipad though I'm having some password issues. That or apple's server is being a complete pain in the ass.
