memeage..

I blame [identity profile] mrsdrjackson.livejournal.com for this.

Comment to this post with RENNER'S GUNS, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

And unlike her, I will provide an upfront pic of

Avengers - I was never a big comic geek (unless it was already a fandom I was in...say like star trek. *face palm*), so overall, I'm so so on most superhero movies unless there's a specific reason. Most I've seen actually due to the ex's fandoms. I haven't actually managed to watch the second Iron Man all the way through, so there was little chance of me being interested in the Avengers (in spite of Whedon) until I heard Jeremy Renner would be in it. I actually watched all of Thor hoping we'd get more than the 3 minute cameo his arms he made. Still, I'll likely be waiting until it's on demand since the movie would have to be all renner all the time to make me accept a migraine from the popcorn.

Books - Um, wow. Okay, I haven't been on a true book binge since my travels last year. One thing about the ebook, I tend to buy mostly for traveling and in the meantime satisfy myself with fanfic. I do slightly miss browsing in book stores on occassion. Let's see, what am I waiting for? The new Mira Grant novel. For some reason, I had thought it was being released on March 6 (my dad's bday by the way), but apparently I'd read the article wrong and it's june. :(

Ocean - It's wet. Umm, yeah. I've actually been to the ocean a pitiful few times. Actually, a grand total of 6 if we count every trip to San Diego. And the only time I've been "on" it was during a tour of a navy ship docked in San Francisco harbor. Which was fun except for the fumes or something making me very ill. So not much experience with it. And environmental news about it makes me very sad in general.

Airports - Proof that there is hell on Earth? Or I guess I should say purgatory, since the hell on earth should be reserved for when one gets stuck in a metal can on a tarmac for any amount of time. *knocks on wood* I don't have a favorite, ones that are international are generally more annoying than the ones that are domestic if only because a) the noise isn't intelligible and b) there's even less chance of me finding something other than water at them. WEll, that's not 100% true. I can actually buy toberlone internationally without worrying about it making me sick, which isn't true of domestic toberlone. Yes, I know, I'm a ray of sunshine. :P

travel - I really wish I'd had the money/time to do this when I was younger. Or that, now that I have money/time to do it, I had more friends that had the same to do it with me that weren't married/with kids. That being said, I like to travel, but I also like my comfort zones. My food issues also limit the places I can actually travel to. In high school, I really wanted to go to the middle east thanks to an arab studies class I had, but that's very unlikely between the food issues and international politics :P

home - Not really sure what to say on this one. For a very long time, I wasn't sure if anywhere would ever feel like home. I mean, family was one thing, but once I stepped out of my house, I never really felt a sense of belonging growing up. And between our own moving around growing up, and then the ephemeral nature of college, any sense of belonging that I had with any specific set of people had a time limit on it. That being said, I've come to the realization that there are certain things that make me more at ease than others. I don't like constant people/noise, so prefer not to be in huge cities, but I do miss the ability to be in walking distances of things I need like groceries etc. I don't miss the pollution that went along with philly there. I like trees and green, so when I do go back to OK it definitely doesn't feel like home since there isn't actually much of that there anymore. So NJ is just a good a place as any to be home based on most of those criteria.

music - I do not like that I've been coopted into itunes. But I do love having music on my iphone always with me. I still dislike apple products beyond the iphone very much as they make my brain feel like I'm writing with my left hand. I'm still playing the mumford and sons album at least once a day and on a very big Tom McCrae kick right now. And somehow neither of those things is depressing me.

Was that random enough?
