WTF? What science?

Scientists reveal truth about makeup

The sum total of the discussion of "science" with regards to makeup in this article:
While it is often said that love is blind, "physical attractiveness seems to be one of the most prominent factors, if not the most significant one, in human mate selection," said behavioral biologist Bernhard Fink of the University of Gottingen in Germany. And cosmetics enhance attractiveness in a quantifiable and real-world relevant way, Fink told LiveScience.

Cosmetics have also been shown to boost earning potential and perhaps even make a promotion more likely, according to a study in the Journal of Applied Social Psychology in 2006.

Really, I clicked on the article expecting some discussion of the preservatives or heavy metals that can be found in makeup. Instead, it's all about how apply different types of makeup. On a news site under the Health heading.

But you know, who cares if your makeup is toxic and makes you die early as long as you are pretty when you do so and the makeup gets you a guy and a higher paying job. Because getting those things with, oh say, intelligence and hard work would just be silly.
